Modern Trousseau put on a dazzling show at this year’s Spring Bridal Show. Callie Tein sent 20 original looks down the runway donned in Holly Golightly style, complete with dark sunglasses and sparkling tiaras.
Long and slimming, short and sassy, and entrance-making tulle ballgown styles all were represented. Designer Callie Tein’s focus for 2011 was all about luxury, and it certainly shows—from the silks and laces she hand-picked and designed, to the fine furs of the boleros, to the delicate beading of the custom bridal sashes. This collection was a crowd favorite, and finished with enthusiastic applause in time to the fun and flirty music. We’re still waiting for the official event video, but you can get a peak at the Modern Trousseau final runway walk on YouTube:

Thanks to all the models who suffered endless pin pricks, makeup fixes, and hairspray, as well as the fantastic hair and makeup professionals who conjured up 20 Audreys. We would also like to thank Justine M Couture and Kristin Morris who both provided the phenomenal jewelry and hair accessories that brought this vintage look together, as well as SEE eyewear for the fabulous sunglasses.

A handful of Modern Trousseau gowns walked the runway last year at the Couture Bridal Show. Just like ready to wear, designers present new collections twice a year. Oh yes, there is more goodness that has never been seen before…a few gowns that will be seen in NYC at New York Bridal Market in April will be seen for the first time on Saturday at the 2011 Bridal Show…ahh, how exciting! Castings and fittings have wrapped…now it’s into the tents…up next hair and makup!

Looking forward to seeing all of the green just outside our doors this morning. In the neighborhood for the parade? Please stop in to see the new store! Fun how it has become a trend to incorporate bold colors into the bride’s attire. Emerald shoes, emerald jewels, green sash or belt. The options are endless and Charleston has a wealth of inspiration and industry leaders, the best planners this side of the Mississippi, to help you tie in a hint of green…blue…red, whatever suites your style!

Have you seen the new Martha Stewart Weddings Spring 2011? Love the lemon and lime feel on the front cover. Funny because we just took a few pictures of the fabulous Lauren gown in front of the yellow William Aiken House. Thrilled to be featured on 176, Amazing Accents in the gown gallery. The Modern Trousseau “May” gown is listed among other gowns who are known for their lovely details.

We continue to blush and are so excited about the over the top warm welcome that has been given as newcomers to Charleston. The collection is not new to the South East and to Charleston, many brides have walked the aisle here in Charleston wearing Modern Trousseau. Newcomers to King Street…yes and loving every minute of it. Have we mention that we have the best neighbors as well. Upper King itinerary: brunch with your favs, appointment at Modern Trousseau, a cupcake on the corner, a bit more shopping and finally a manicure. What a fun day to be planned around shopping for your dream gown.
