We couldn’t think of a better photo gallery to celebrate Spring than these festive images of our real bride, Caroline, wearing the ‘Jessica‘ lace wedding gown for her Charleston wedding. Whether in black and white, or full-color, the bride was all smiles in her custom, keyhole back gown that she purchased from Modern Trousseau Charleston.
Along with the images, Caroline sent along the following thank-you message in her email:
“Hope all is well with you! I am sure ya’ll are super busy in the midst of wedding season, and I hope it’s going well! Just wanted to send you the link to the pictures from our wedding. The dress turned out perfectly and I received so many compliments…it was a big hit! Everyone (including the groom) loved it! ”

If you happened to pick up the February issue of skirt! magazine, you will already be familiar with our gorgeous Charleston bride, Ali. Photographer Paige Winn said that Ali and Daniel’s wedding was the kind of event you might see featured in a style magazine, and we couldn’t agree more.
The couple married in October 2012 on the grounds of Lowndes Grove. The bride wore a custom ‘Lauren’ gown by Modern Trousseau Charleston, and kept her makeup and accessories simple and classic. Bridesmaids wore long gowns in a neutral, oyster hue, with bright poppy, rose, and anemone bouquets, and the groomsmen kept up the classic theme in navy suits and ties.
The waterfront property of Lowndes Grove provided the perfect backdrop for this couple’s outdoor ceremony and reception, and the evening sky added the necessary star light for the dance floor. Along with the amazing chuppah designed by Charleston Stems, the bride and groom honored the Jewish wedding tradition of tzedakah, or giving aid to the needy, by raising money to build a library in India via Room to Read. In lieu of a gift, guests donated more than $5,000 to construct a new facility. Such an enduring, romantic gift to celebrate the marriage of two people in love!

Pick up the latest issue of Charleston’s skirt! magazine for our newest ad featuring real bride, Brooke, blowing a kiss goodbye to 2012. Brooke is wearing the ‘Lauren’ gown by Modern Trousseau that features French alençon lace gorgeously styled with a deep, V-neckline in the front and back. This gown’s fit-to-flare silhouette is complimented by pleated tulle godets and chantilly lace edging, as well as a lovely sweep train.
Brooke married her soul mate, Dan, last November on the beach at Secrets, Maroma Beach Riviera Maya. Her vows were blessed by an amazing sunset and the warm wishes of her friends and family, and the celebration continued with champagne and dancing under the stars.
The bride’s ‘Lauren’ gown fit her perfectly, and she added a touch of color with a blush silk sash at the waist that matched the sweet neckties of her groomsmen. We were thrilled to see the final, head-to-toe look, and love how radiant and confident she appears in her wedding dress.
Brooke wrote, “I was in love with my gown and didn’t want to get out of it! This gown made me feel so beautiful, and I was so pleased with how easy it was to dance in!”

Thank you for choosing Modern Trousseau Charleston, designed and made with love in the USA just for you!

Sarah didn’t cut any corners for her beautiful outdoor wedding in Charleston. The bride has recently opened a new business renting out vintage pieces for weddings and events, and incorporated some of the coolest pieces in her casual, breezy ceremony.
Sarah wore the Dylan tiered, trumpet gown by Modern Trousseau that was photographed by one of our favorites, Paige Winn Photography. See more of this wedding here >
We salute you Megan! This lovely bride recently shared these photos from her big day with her handsome military man. Here’s the lovely note she sent us with her wedding photos:
“Thank you, thank you, thank you for being a part of my wedding and helping me get the dress of my dreams. I received so many compliments on the dress the day of, and I continue to get comments on my pictures of how I “picked the perfect dress for me”. Here, as promised, are some pictures. My mother should be contacting you soon about getting a description of the dress for the wedding announcement in the local paper, so keep an eye out for that if you please! Thanks again for being such an integral part of my big day. ”
Thank you Megan! We wish you both many, many years of bliss!
“I love my dress and got TONS of compliments.
Thank you for your help and working with us
to find the perfect one!” — Patty
Congratulations Patty & Ben! This southern couple wed this July, and recently sent us photos from their Charleston wedding. Patty looks lovely in her custom ‘Jessica’ lace gown with a deep V-neck and low, V-back that she paired with sparkly slingbacks by Kate Spade.
Prepare to gush over these photos from Laura’s Low Country wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation — always a fabulous spot for weddings and photo ops. Laura wore a custom ‘Riley’ lace gown by Modern Trousseau with detachable lace straps which looked so elegant for the ceremony, and also allowed the bride to stay cool for the fun-filled reception. The fingertip lace veil was custom made to match Laura’s gown and truly transformed her into a glowing bride.
The ‘Riley’ gown is made in French alençon lace tiered in scalloped layers over silk duchess in an elegant, modified A-line silhouette. The waist is tied with a sensational ribbon and lace sash.
Laura is a beautiful model for this style, and we love how she personalized the look with a southern girl’s must haves: a pair of fabulous cowboy boots. We wish the bride and groom many happy days, and thank them both for sharing these photos from the big day.
Shay recently sent us these photos from her wedding day in Charleston. Although originally from Connecticut and currently working in Pittsburgh, the couple chose the groom’s southern roots for a stylish, sun-drenched wedding. Shay looks absolutely stunning in Modern Trousseau’s ‘Cara’ gown with an embellished sash — and we adore her groom’s polka-dot bow tie! Click on each photo for a larger view…
Our bride, Katie, recently sent us these photos from her May 2012 seaside wedding wearing a combination of our Lauren and Tara styles. With her email, the bride wrote, “My dress turned out to be PERFECT!!! I’m so sad I can’t wear it everyday!”
We think this bride looks like Perfection, and her groom should get an extra medal for catching such a pretty bride!
Congratulations Ginny! Our gorgeous bride was married this past October, and used the rich, seasonal colors of Charleston as a backdrop to the golden hues of her wedding. Ginny chose Modern Trousseau’s fit-to-flare ‘Autumn’, and customized it to her taste by choosing to have the lace run to the edge of the bodice in a complexion-flattering ivory, along with a beaded sash at the natural waist.
The final look was a perfect match to the high-style, vintage vibe of The William Aiken House reception. The photographer’s use of natural light and the fabulous locations made Ginny look like she could have stepped out of one of the estate’s grand, oil portraits. From her delicate, lace veil, down to her silk, Manolo Blahnik heels, this Charleston bride was a masterpiece!

We are all swooning over these photos sent in by our bride, Geneva. This Charleston beauty wore Modern Trousseau’s ‘Monroe’ lace gown with a custom lace bolero and bridal sash. Geneva told us the dress was “a big hit and [she] loved wearing it.”
…And we loved having her as a client! Charleston’s bridal showroom manager had a fantastic time working with Geneva, and was thrilled that the bride always had fun friends shopping with her. The bridal bolero was chosen later in the design process of the gown, and the final look is sweet sophistication with a fabulous fit.
This Lowcountry bride and her new husband, Luke, married May 1st at Oldfield Plantation near Hilton Head, SC. Her wedding style featured lemon-hued jewelry, along with a backdrop of bridesmaids dressed in soft, watercolor aqua — perfect for a spring ceremony.
Modern Trousseau’s ‘Monroe’ gown features a 1960′s reproduction lace in a charming daisy motif. This sweetly seductive gown also has a fit-to-flare silhouette and sweetheart neckline delicately edged in scalloped lace. This style is available in diamond white, ivory, ivory lace over latte, and ivory lace over blush. Give us a call to learn more. Geneva’s coordinating sash was purchased from an online retailer, and Modern Trousseau customized the final design in-house.
All our brides walk down the aisle looking beautiful; however, we can’t take all the credit. True beauty lies not simply in what one wears, but in the warm glow of love that radiates from the faces of husband and wife. Congratulations Geneva and Luke! We wish you both many years of joy and continued love.

Our very first client at our Charleston showroom recently sent in these photos from her 2012 wedding wearing Modern Trousseau’s ‘Camille’ lace gown. We couldn’t think a more perfect start to our collection of Charleston real bride photos, and are overjoyed that Lindsey is our first lovely bride.
Lindsey shared these photos from her big day along with the following note:
“I was lucky enough to be looking for a dress not long after you opened your Charleston store. Heather was amazing and I found the perfect dress! I was so in love with it, and have received so many compliments. I have several friends just engaged, and I am sending them all to your Charleston store! After searching in five different high-end Charleston bridal boutiques, I found that you have, by far, the most beautiful lace gowns I have ever seen.
Aside from offering my thanks and appreciation, I wanted to reach out to see if I should send my photos to anyone at Modern Trousseau. I know you show real brides on your website and since I am in the PR/ Marketing industry, I understand the value of a happy customer.
I can’t thank you enough for giving me the perfect dress for our big day!”
Congratulations Lindsey! We wish you and your new husband many happy and healthy years together.
